AfterWorld Alpha 9.6 Released!

With this update we have replaced all weapons in game (new models instead of old "place-holder" models) and added lots of new items.

You (testers) may have noticed that something strange going with your skills. Don't panic! Your skills are kept and we are tuning the efficiency of items and skill gains. During next few days we will continue tuning settings and will heavily monitor the overall game to gather required information. What we want to do is to make a gaming platform that will suit most of you. Someone likes one thing, another - completely different. And it's our job to make AfterWorld suitable for all of you. It's a hard task, but we are ready for this. And you are the ones who makes the AfterWorld better - your suggestions, comments, the time you have spent in game - it all helps us a lot! Thanks for staying with us and for your support! We do listen to your comments/reaction and carefully reading all of your suggestions you are sending. Keep it up!

The other news for Alpha 9.6 is new mobs added into the game, new tree for chopping (Oak), alloys, manufacturing programs, scopes for weapons and other items.
Changed the "defense" system on avatars - sometimes avatar's "avoidance" can fail, it's not 100% anymore.
AI bevahiour is under development and may change at any time, so don't be too serious if some mob will do something "strange".
The usage of weapons is altered too. While we still tuning it, the "stats" on items you can see can differ from "real" ones - if we change some properties on server and there is no patch released, the information you may see will be wrong. As soon as we finalize the setting - the patch will be published to update game client and you will be able to see real statistics.

Lately we receive a lot of questions like: "Skilling rate - the attribute on items - what it means? Why it goes up from 0% to 100% and then back down again?"
Answer:
Skilling rate is the percentage of how much of skill gains you can receive by using this item. 100% is the best, it means you receive maximum possible skills by using this item. And of course - the most "correct" and "fastest" way of skilling is to use the items where you have biggest skilling rate.
When you take items which is too "big" for your skills - the skilling rate is low (if you try driving Formula-1 without any experience of driving a car will you learn fast?). Skilling more, you coming closer to the level of this item - the "Skilling rate" is growing. When it reaches 100% - it becomes "what the doctor ordered" for you. When you grow more, the skill rate will start decreasing - it's a time to move to the next, "higher-level" item.

Skills for refining/crafting and mining is under development and we will inform you when it will be implemented.

Please remember - the AfterWorld project is under active development, and it's expected to have bugs, problems and other "not so good" stuff. While we are trying to make the "testing process" as smooth as possible to you, our testers, we need to implement new features at the same time, and actually, test different things and behaviours. So, sorry for any inconvenience!
Keep sending us your bug reports, we take into account every message we receive, though we can't reply to every single message.
